AMI by Alexandre Mattiussi Debuts at Barneys NY
Last week, we had the pleasure of joining Barneys NY in celebrating the arrival of AMI by Alexandre Mattiussi to the United States. AMI is a unique concept of ready to wear for men: a complete men’s wardrobe, well designed, easy and cool.
The pieces in the collection are both functional and luxurious. There is a level of quality that can be seen in the details and finishing, as well as the touch and feel of the clothes. The collection also includes a selection of shoes and belts that finish the overall look with ease.
Upon meeting the designer he explained, “AMI means ‘friend’ in French and that is exactly what this collection is about. It’s about friends hanging out, built on sharing ideas and above all a collaborative collection of menswear for the real man.”
Born in 1980, Alexandre Mattiussi studied at Duperré fashion design school in Paris, specializing in menswear design. After working on Dior’s ‘30 Montaigne’ men’s line, he joined Givenchy as first menswear assistant, where he honed his knowledge of men’s tailoring for over five years. Subsequently, Mattiussi worked on Marc Jacobs Men, travelling between Paris, Milan and New York.
AMI by Alexandre Matiussi is chic, French elegance redefined for the modern man. Visit Barneys NY or amiparis.fr to discover more.
