Burberry Prorsum Men’s Spring 2013

Burberry Prorsum was under the Milan Fashion Week spotlight earlier today and they were shining. Literally. Christopher Bailey continues to innovate on classic Burberry style and we can’t get enough. The spring 2013 collection dives into metallic silk, from full garments in the foil-like fabric to subtle collar detailing. Done in bright colors of blue, fuchsia, green and yellow, there was no shortage of a bold statement. Long, printed short sleeve shirts overtop metallic silk pants look to be inspired by traditional South Asian style. Mixing with classic British style, it was a moment of east meets west.

Jackets and coats stood out of course, a strong point in all of Burberry’s collections. Metallic and matte are juxtaposed, while retro styling and futuristic textiles are fused. Vibrant, bright colors are layered with more subdued neutrals, for a unique sartorial effect.
