Christian Blanken Fall 2012
Sleek. Cool. Powerful. Feminine. These are the words that are being shouted when Christian Blanken’s autumn/winter collection premiered at London Fashion Week. Abundant with leather and shearling, flannel and cashmere, the color palette remained typical of the season, with deep blacks and ivory whites paired with an entire spectrum of greys to symbolize the cool, steely weather of the winter months, whilst the warmer tones of camel, chocolate brown and vivid orange and red highlighted the colors of the autumnal leaves falling. The clean silhouettes and sharp tailoring created the image of a powerful, confident and edgy woman, which has cemented itself as a clear trend. The New York sportswear influence, which is inherent in all of Blanken’s work, has merged with the edge of the London streets, creating a cutthroat collection which is epitomized by the word chic.
