Details Behind the Christian Louboutin Cinderella Glass Slipper

A while back we heard rumblings that Christian Louboutin was going to design a glass slipper to celebrate the Diamond Edition release of the famed Walt Disney cartoon “Cinderella”.

Now, we get our first look at this breathtaking design that includes a Swarovski crystal covered heel, lace (to give transparency), and a butterflies. “It’s a very classic fairy tale about love, and the dream that love is absolutely pure.” says Louboutin.

The famous fairy tale slipper debuted Wednesday night at a soiree at the Palais Brongniart in Paris as part of Couture Fashion Week. While the shoe itself will not be made available for mass purchase, 20 pairs will be given away worldwide so we can all have a shot of being a Disney Princess. Louboutin and Walt Disney will release details of the giveaway on August 17, 2012.

The Diamond Edition of “Cinderella” will be available on Blu-Ray on October 2, 2012; be sure to look for the 10-minute short film “The Magic of the Glass Slipper: A Cinderella Story” staring Christian Louboutin himself as one of the bonus features.
