Elie Saab Couture Fall 2012
This season in Haute Couture Elie Saab presented a collection fit for a Queen. A total of forty-six dresses were sent down the runway all of which commanded the attention of the audience. Karlie Kloss, one of today’s most sought after models opened the show towering over guests in a stunning floor length black sequined and lace gown with a sheer plunge neckline. At first glance many of the gowns appeared substantial and heavy, but as models strutted down the runway, each piece displayed plenty of movement that seemed to float effortlessly. Gown after floor length gown comprised of French lace and sheer chiffon covered with beading and sequins, flowed with such grace and elegance. The models were styled perfectly with simple French braids and natural makeup allowing the gowns to emerge as the stars of the show. The color way was understated and subtle with mostly teal, rose, black, white and a few accents of gold. Plunge backs, belted waists and peeks of skin added quiet drama to the show while the show stopping wedding gown and infinite veil clearly proved to be the highlight. Overall the collection was stunningly gorgeous which is not unusual for a designer like Elie Saab, but this year he undoubtedly created a fashion masterpiece.
