Father’s Day Gift Guide: The Luxury Dad
One of my favorite type of fathers has got to be the luxury dad. There is something about a man that is stuck in a midlife crisis that just warms our hearts. If this is your father, then we’re so unbelievably jealous of you! If there is anything I love, it’s a man with an expendable income and a Barney’s card in his Goyard card holder. The question is – what do you get the father that already has everything? You get him things that are so unbelievably expensive and beyond chic that you have to charge them to his AmEx account.
1. Barker Black Ltd. Death Glory Slippers
Barker Black is the perfect modern day luxury brand for the bougie father. It has the perfect mix of elegance and rebellion with all shoes finished by hand, that’s some damn good craftsmanship. We love these Death Glory Slippers in purple, it’s perfect for the father who goes from his bed to Barney’s. (Barker Black, $550)
2. Dita Baron Aviators
A bougie father needs to throw some shade at all times of the day (I love sunglass puns). These Dita Baron sunglasses are absolutely the greatest thing since brie. They have the same perfect mix of downtown cool and uptown class. After all, who doesn’t need another pair of sunglasses to their already huge collection. (Dita, $550)
3. WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie O’Hare Tote
WANT makes the best bags for the serious man with a luxury pallet. Using some of the finest materials out there and superior craftsmanship, it’s no wonder they do so well. Their bags are clean and crisp making your dad the chicest at the Le Bain rooftop. (Mr.Porter, $795)
4. Tateossian Leather and Silver Bracelet
Tateossian comes out with some of the best menswear bracelets out there. They’re simple and chic and the perfect addition to any suit or an outfit for the East Hampton beach. Your father will be getting complimented daily on it, and wouldn’t it be nice if he could say he got it from you? (Park & Bond, $175)
5. Alexander McQueen iPad Case
This one doesn’t need much of an explanation, it’s McQueen. After all, the bougie dads always have the most recent technological advances to show off. Why stop at just the iPad? Make sure that iPad is relaxing in the most luxurious and fashionable case ever. (Mr. Porter, $450)
If all else fails, you can grab a bottle of fine wine from the cellar and just have a good talk. After all, you’re probably both just as busy, when was the last time you two even had a full conversation?
