Fendi Fall 2012 Is All About Texture

A myriad of textures graced the Fendi runways this season, from leather to jersey, from fur to sheer. But let us just say – it is sure to give you the edge next season. Not only did it feature a myriad of textures, but the inclusion of warped shapes created a strength within the clothing that was so edgy it was almost falling off. Trust Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Venturini Fendi to create such a successful image, of course. The hair, an indescribable creation which had us tempted to try it out ourselves (but fear of failing stopped us), was something that was overshadowed by the wide array of colors used in the collection – oxblood, purple, green, brown, and black dominated, and the yellow fur worn by Joan Smalls was a surprising, yet extremely welcome, pop of color that had us freezing our credit cards in water. The awkward silhouettes were made feminine through the oversized belts, and the asymmetrical cuts of some pieces were interesting the say the least. A collection, which may be less practical than most, one admires the beauty of the Fendi woman.
