House of Lies Debuts on Showtime

House of Lies is a new dark comedy that airs on Showtime, premiering this Sunday January 8, 2012.

Meet Marty Kaan (Don Cheadle), the big-money earner at Galweather & Stearn, along with his hot, young team – The Pod – of big-balling power players – Jeannie (Kristen Bell), Clyde (Ben Schwartz) and Doug (Josh Lawson). Marty and The Pod’s work life is all first-class, top-shelf, black Am Ex, the best suites at the nicest hotels.

After screening House of Lies we can tell you that this show has the potential to be a great comedy; there are a couple of moments in the pilot that drag or don’t seem to gel with the plot, but overall we loved how devious Marty Kaan can be. He knows just what buttons to push or what angle to spin to keep his clients happy and signed to his firm. We do hope for more screen time from the ever-fabulous Kristen Bell as the series goes on, instead being the semi-background player she was in the pilot. Overall, Cheadle and cast hands out a pretty solid performance and we will definitely be tuning in each week for more.
