Everything at James Long’s spring collection was about deconstruction whilst remaining structured. Are you confused yet? Well don’t be. The collection was rife with greys, blacks, and whites, but adorned with metallic, structured lines, which hark back to an abacus (you know, those things we used to count with before calculators). The James Long code of knits, print and silhouette were all present, and the voluminous shorts in various fabrics and textures were a particular delight, almost approaching the line of being androgynous, yet not feminine. Yet another collection featuring socks and sandals – something we certainly don’t condone unless you’re a model – it may have been a bit more dark in terms of palette for the season, but we can understand James’ reasoning – sometimes, you can stay cool by being cool. And we’ll drink to that!

It's more than fashion.
