King of Canadian Fashion, Joe Mimran does it again! For spring 2013, Joe Fresh delivers a fresh and modern collection with its usual retro vibe. Opening with a black and white Alfred Hitchcock film, the show had already struck a chord with us before it even started.

This season we’ll show one of the most cohesive collections the brand has ever produced. By manipulating textiles, playing with colour and mixing textures we were able to create a fresh take on modern sportswear,” says Joe Mimran, Creative Director, Joe Fresh. “I was inspired by op art from the ‘60s and used that to mix futuristic patterns, colours and cuts with a sophisticated twist.

Optical, retro and sporty it was. Black and white checkered prints and stripes were applied to knits, cotton and neoprene. White ran throughout the collection, dominating some of the looks from head to toe. As the show progressed, metallics were introduced. Foil-like silver and gold shimmered on pants, jackets, skirts and dresses. And although the collection was much less colorful than in the past, we still see pops of lemon yellow and powder blue.

See the action from the show below, plus the legendary Pat Cleveland, who took the runway by storm!
