For fall 2012, Lucian Matis took a darker turn, with elegantly seductive looks that paraded through the ballroom of the Fairmont Royal York. Fusing elements from the past with shapes of fashion’s future, the collection exuded a bold femininity. Each garment was worked down to the most delicate detail, evoking a sense of old world sophistication that fit beautifully in the ornate setting.

The color palette was dark. Black dominated the collection, with flashes of green and canary yellow popping up in appliqued feathers. Lace was also heavily used throughout; large cutouts that revealed bare skin or nude sheer fabric underneath.
