Luminous Brilliance Is Dior: Fall 2012
Gorgeously high lustre pieces composed yet another radiant collection from Christian Dior. A palette of charcoal, anthracite, taupe, aubergine, and antique rose, armed in leather, silk, cashmere, and wool created flattering silhouettes, while rounded necklines, unrevealing fronts, and mid-calf lengths were paired against sheer backs for the right amount of demure. The signature femininity of Dior was further enhanced by lustrous appliques, and delicate embroidery.
Overall, Christian Dior Fall 2012 Collection was superb and cohesive, with meticulous execution at every level. Hair was slick back and shimmering in pin straight low ponytails, or beneath small headpieces, while the music was even coordinated to reflect the alternation of fabrics: orchestral tones accompanying silk and embroidered pieces, and heavier synthetic rhythms playing as leather and wool set foot on the runway.
