Max Mara Goes Military Chic for Fall 2012
Max Mara went with a chic military theme for Fall 2012. The collection was a mixture of elegant and sensible winter coats and jackets layered over casual dresses, skirts, and relaxed jumpsuits. The outerwear ranged from the modern cocoon shaped jacket to the more tailored and classic pea coat. There was a slight emphasis on mixed fabrics. A handful of dresses and outerwear styles incorporated clever placements of croc skins, embossed velvet, cashmere and leather. On a more casual note, suspenders were paired with with cropped trousers, injecting a youthful vibe into the collection. The color scheme was proper for fall consisting of olive green, camel colors, light grey hues, and winter whites. To break up the monotony, the classic black and white stripe, and plaid pattern added depth to the color palette and kept the collection interesting.
Overall the show presented many classic options for the cosmopolitan woman that still pushed the limits of forward thinking fashion. This collection offered plenty of standout, timeless wardrobe options that are appropriate for a work setting. The professional woman who is career driven will definitely want to shop this collection come next fall.
A few favorites from the collection include the pinstriped button front blazer inspired coat, a wrap military dress with croc belt closure, and the camel colored notch lapel belted jumpsuit.
