New (and Old) Faces Returning To Glee, Plus News on Season 4

The TCA (Television Critics Association) summer press tour kicked off today with FOX dishing out all kinds of news regarding the mystery that is “Glee” season 4.

Get ready for some new faces. Besides the yet to be named winner of “The Glee Project” season 2, FOX announced that after a nationwide search, Dean Geyer and Jacob Artist will join the cast when the show returns on Thursday, September 13, 2012.

Just who will these cast members being playing? While in New York attending NYADA, Rachel (Lea Michele) will be meet Brody Weston (Dean Geyer), a handsome upperclassman who shows an interest in her. Jacob Artist’s new character confirms a rumor that has been circulating for the last few weeks, ‘New Directions’ is getting another Puckerman as Artist will play Noah “Puck” Puckerman’s younger half-brother Jake Puckerman who tries out for the glee club, but his attitude could derail his audition.

It was also re-confirmed that both Kate Hudson and Sarah Jessica Parker will have multiple episode arcs this season.

One big question is who is returning for season 4? Well we can now confirm that Chord Overstreet aka ‘Sam Evans’ has been upgraded to series regular We are also hearing that Samuel Larsen and Alex Newell are working on deals that would extend their roles into season 4; both Larsen and Newell were winners from season 1 of “The Glee Project”.

FOX president Kevin Reilly also had this to say about how last season’s graduating members will work into this season: “We have a core group consisting of some of the returning characters and some of the new ones that we’ll be servicing every week, and then limited deals with some of the other actors, who will be joining here and there through the season. I think it will make for a fun surprise when they turn up.
