Rebecca Minkoff Spring 2013

Rebecca Minkoff Spring 2013 - Hilary Rhoda

Prior to her show, Rebecca Minkoff described her collection as “tomboy with a bit of bon vivant.” Her description was a pretty spot-on summary of what we saw strut down the runway. With a heavy incorporation of prints and patterns, and the reinvention of several staple pieces, Minkoff showed a collection that many women are going to love come the 2013 spring season.

Floral prints are seen throughout Minkoff’s collection, and are used in new and cutting-edge ways.  One of her most eye-catching pieces was a pair of re-imagined track pants where a floral-print stripe runs down the front of the pant, as opposed to the side. There were several other new and refreshing looks as well, including: snakeskin overalls, an open-back jumpsuit, faded motorcycle vests, and a tweed shorts suit. Minkoff also included a series of bandana-inspired pieces, which gave the collection a 70′s, easy-living feel.

The collection as a whole is bright and flowy—perfect for spring and summer. With a tomboy-chic theme, and lots of versatile pieces, Rebecca Minkoff’s S/S 2013 collection is definitely on our must-have list!
