Richard Chai Love Spring 2013
Richard Chai Love SS13 blended in perfectly with the flashes of the lightbulbs. A collection of sheer fabrics, a white color palette and light floral prints covered most of the collection. There was also a strong use of sky blue and gold hues. Cut-outs were included in many pieces, which brought us back to a different time. You would think simple dresses and halter tops would be somewhat of a snooze fest — not the case in Richard Chai Love as the simple dresses had a sort of reversed gingham print with diagonal stripes plastered across. The slim fit mixed with flare made the collection perfect for the Spring season.
For Richard Chai menswear the same color palettes were in use. It was really in the details for Chai, as technical fabrics played a huge part — we’re talking a sheer polo here. As always, it was a strong collection for men this season. While everything was refined and well fitted, it had a little bit of an edge to it. For the man who needs to always be on his game, but likes to have a little fun with his outfits.
We applaud you Richard Chai on constantly delivering collections that make us want to go bankrupt. As New York Fashion Week continues, we’ll be bringing you up-to-the-minute reviews and information of all things fashion.
