Rumors No Longer Rumors: Marchesa Goes Contemporary

WWD made my day this morning as they announced that the once rumors of Marchesa going contemporary aren’t rumors at all! We’re over the moon about this new deal with LF USA as they bring the red carpet heavy hitters down a few notches on the price scale.

The line is said to hold many things that Marchesa holds dear, like embroidery and prints, all at a suggested retail price of $150-$750. Now that’s quite the price cut for some major Marchesa pieces. Designer Georgina Chapman spoke out saying “we have always had a vision for Marchesa to be a lifestyle brand,” and it’s about to be. While the new line doesn’t even have a name yet, it’s set to launch around pre-fall 2013.
