Spice Girls, One Direction, Elton John, Kate, Naomi and more to perform at 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremony
The London 2012 Olympic Games have just begun, but after the spectacular opening ceremony the other day, we are already curious about what the closing ceremony will have in store.
Titled, “A Symphony of British Music”, the closing ceremonies will celebrate British music, one of Great Britain’s strongest cultural exports for the past half a century. We’re expecting quite a production, with close to 4,100 performers at the ceremony including 3,500 adult volunteers, 380 schoolchildren from the six Olympic host boroughs and 250 professional performers.
The musical performances are rumored to include the Spice Girls, One Direction, Sir Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney, The Who and Take That.
British fashion will also get a spotlight at the closing ceremony. Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley are set to strut their stuff in famed British designers, such as Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood.
Of course, the closing will also include a handover to the 2016 Olympics host city, Rio de Janeiro.
Tune in to watch it all go down on August 12, 2012 at 9pm BST!
