The famous fairy tale slipper debuted Wednesday night at a soiree at the Palais Brongniart in Paris as part of Couture Fashion Week. While the shoe itself will not be made available for mass purchase, 20 pairs will be given away worldwide so we can all have a shot of being a Disney Princess. Louboutin and Walt Disney will release details of the giveaway on August 17, 2012.

The Diamond Edition of “Cinderella” will be available on Blu-Ray on October 2, 2012; be sure to look for the 10-minute short film “The Magic of the Glass Slipper: A Cinderella Story” staring Christian Louboutin himself as one of the bonus features.

We’re pretty positive this glass slipper will have the famous red bottomed sole. We’d love if he took things a little over the edge and added some spikes as he has done in other shoes. However, we’re perplexed on whether this will actually be a glass shoe.

I’m not saying that I need a glass slipper, but I am saying if this does come out as glass you can be sure there will be one more thing in my closet that I don’t need.
