Starting from the bottom up, our #10 show is Homeland from Showtime.  This show keeps us on the edge of our seats with just about every episode even if Emmy Winner Claire Dianes does seem to cry a lot.  Over on CBS the long running and equally hilarious comedy Big Bang Theory comes in at #9.  Now we will admit that we boarded the BBT train late in the game but now we are fully on board with this awesome, geeky comedy.  Last year’s last minute entry on ABC and our #8 is the comedy Don’t Trust the B**** in Apartment 23 and we instantly fell in love and hoped that ABC would give this show a chance.  A chance it did get with a full season order for the 2012-13 season, this comedy (now moving to Sunday nights), is hands down one of the best comedies on Tuesday night, thanks in no short part to James Van Der Beek.  Also on ABC comes their staple comedy and our #7 pick Modern Family, this comedy keeps up the laughs and is still the shinning beacon for ABC’s Wednesday nights comedy block.  Our #6 is Game of Thrones, this bloody good drama from HBO makes up for the mess that True Blood as become, plus it has Peter Dinklage, which is almost reason alone to love it.

Last year a little showed called Revenge quickly became our must-watch show of the week and in 2012 the show has added a whole new set of twist and turns, and while a few story lines could using some tweaks this show still lands at #5.  For the last four years The CW has one constant hit on their hands, The Vampire Diaries.  This show has always upped its ante and hasn’t been afraid to kill off some of its major players so when the season 3 finale turned Elena in a vampire we knew season four was going to rock, and rock it does at #4 in our list.  We love a good drama and we really love a good drama from the like of Shonda Rhimes; enter stage left - Scandal.  This Kerry Washington lead drama has become a quick favorite of ours and yet another cannot miss show, so much so that is lands at #3.  What do Snow White, Prince Charming, The Evil Queen, and Little Red Riding Hood have in common?  They all star in the magical drama Once Upon A Time.  The top drama from the 2011-12 season as managed to keep a good chunk of their viewers in season 2 and thanks to all the new twists and new characters they’ve added, Once Upon A Time comes in at #2.

So which show is our hands down favorite?  Our #1 is none other than The Walking Dead.  After a painfully slow beginning to their second season, the show ended its season 2 on a super high note with the promise of not 1, not 2, but 3 fan favorite story lines from the comic books.  When season 3 kicked off in October there was so much action in the first 5 episodes we had no clue how they planned on topping it each week, as each episode could on its own function as a season finale.  The second half of season 3 kicks off in Feb ’13 and we can’t wait to see what they do in the remaining 8 episodes.

While there you have it, our top 10 favorite shows of 2012!  So bring it on 2013 we can’t wait to see what TV goodness you have in store for us!

We did a little digging and found out that we were kinda correct in this thought process. According to a statement given by Liftetime, Posen is “filling” in for Kors during season 11 as the famed designers schedule didn’t allow for him to make the commitment for a full season. Lifetime did confirm that Kors will be a guest judge for the season finale.

“This was an amazing opportunity,” Posen said. “I hope I’m here to give a new perspective to the designers.”

To recap: Rachel and Finn broke up as Rachel was put on the train to head off to New York to attend NYADA, while Finn enlisted in the Army. Kurt was rejected from NYADA and now has no clue what he is going to do with after high school career. Quinn is headed to Yale, Santana to L.A., and while Santana got a full-ride cheerleading scholarship to the University of Kentucky she was at a crossroads between college or heading to New York.

As season 4 kicks off, we’ll see how Rachel is dealing with her break-up and how she is fitting in at NYADA, while back in Ohio Mr. Schuester will introduce some new faces to the remaining members of New Directions.

New York Fashion Week is where those trends are seen and set, as designers send their labors of love for the next season down the runway to be judged by the world. New York Fashion Week is the “IT” event for the fashion world and still run on an invite-only concept, but thanks to the social media and the online world, we get to share our experiences with you.

To gear up for all the trends, drama, and a week of running around New York City, here is our playlist of both fiction and nonfictional movies and TV shows to get you in the mood for September Fashion.

‘The Devil Wears Prada’ – Based off the best selling novel, this movie starring Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt gives you an inside look at the drama and politics of working at one of the top fashion magazines “Runway”.

‘The September Issue’ – We like to call this the REAL LIFE ‘Devil Wears Prada’. Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour allowed R.J. Cutler and his crew to lift the veil and show us exactly what goes on inside the Vogue offices at 4 Times Square in New York and just exactly how the famed September Issue is made. The film features interviews with Anna herself, Grace Coddington, and Tonne Goodman.

‘The Tents’ – This new documentary was filmed during February 2010 New York Fashion Week, which was the last time New York Fashion Week would be held at Bryant Park. ‘The Tents’ tells the story about how the then “Seven on Sixth” New York Fashion Week came to be and how the move to its new home in Lincoln Center happened. The film features interviews with former CFDA President Stan Herman, former SVP of IMG Fashion Fern Mallis, and designers Betsey Johnson, Carolina Herrera, Donna Karan, Tommy Hilfiger, Zac Posen, and more.

‘Gossip Girl’ – While ‘Gossip Girl’ might not be a behind-the-scenes of the tents or a magazine, there is fashion to be had, as this show (the sixth and final season starts in October on The CW) follows 5 Upper East Socialites to parties, the Hamptons, and more. ‘Gossip Girl’ has built up a reputation for showing trends and designs from the latest designers, and even has staged a few fashion shows on the show, including a moment in season 3 that was held as New York Fashion Week and featured Tim Gunn.

‘Project Runway’ – Host and model Heidi Klum alongside judges Michael Kors (designer), Nina Garcia (Fashion Director, Marie Claire) and Tim Gunn (CCO, Liz Claiborne) give weekly challenges to 13 up and coming designers. The final 3 designers will show a collection a New York Fashion Week and the winner will be a cash prize to help start their own fashion label. Notable winners include Christian Siriano, and Irina Shabayeva along with runner-up Mondo Guerra. ‘Project Runway’ is currently in its 10th season airing Thursday nights on Lifetime.

‘The Rachel Zoe Project’ – This Bravo reality show follows stylist Rachel Zoe as she styles looks for magazines, commercials, celebrity red carpet looks. The show was always shot during January-March as Rachel and her team would attend not just New York Fashion Week but also London, Paris, and Milan Fashion Weeks as well.

We suggest spending this next week snuggling up on your couch and watching all our favorite films and shows as September is right around the corner and while showing up to a party fashionably late is acceptable, wearing last season’s trends is not.

What exactly is House of Style? The MTV show combined everything from behind the scenes during Fashion Week and photo shoots, showcased the latest trends, had a DIY segment with Todd Oldham titled “Todd Time” where we learned how to dye your hair with Kool Aid (PS – I’ve done this – was not worth the $300 salon visit to get the Kool Aid out) , interviews with the hottest musicians all while hosted by supermodels including Cindy Crawford, Daisy Fuentes, and Rebecca Romijn.

Now After 10yrs off the air House of Style is back starting a with a documentary short coming out on August 7th followed by the announcment of the new host during the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards Red Carpet on Thursday, September 6th. House of Style will be filming during New York Fashion Week and will formally launch on October 9, 2012 on HouseOfStyle.MTV.Com.

“House of Style is deeply rooted in celebrating and drawing energy from our audience’s mix-and-match love of fashion, music and pop culture,” said Dave Sirulnick, executive vice president, News and Production, MTV. “In bringing back House of Style, we’re once again looking to spotlight the spirit, personality and sometimes humor of the most interesting people in fashion who personify the energy of style in 2012.”

Starting today MTV has unlocked the House of Style Collection, a digital archive full of 150+ clips, still images from fashion legends including supermodel and former host Cindy Crawford, Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour, CFDA award-winning designer Marc Jacobs and legendary singer and fashion designer Gwen Stefani.

Jennifer Hudson, former American Idol contestant and Best Supporting Actress Academy Award winner for DREAMGIRLS will appear in a multi-episode arc when the show comes back in spring for 2013.  According the THR Hudson will play Veronica Moore, a Tony-winning Broadway star, who will have a major impact on the lives of Karen (Katherine McPhee) and Ivy (Megan Hilty)

NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said ”We’re thrilled to have Jennifer Hudson coming to ‘Smash.’” “This series is a showcase for some of the best musical talent in the business and that’s a fitting description for Jennifer Hudson. Her character will represent someone who reached her Broadway dream, but also paid a price for it.”

Hudson will join several Broadway stars including recent Tony Winner Christian Borle (he won for his role in the play ‘Peter and the Starcatcher’) and Tony nominee Jeremy Jordan.

Despite the pouring rain, fashion insiders along with the cast of USA Network’s hit show SUITS took to New York City’s Highline park for a night filled with fashion and style.

We’ve already told you about the MR PORTER SUITS & STYLE Gallery and microsite, and last night’s fashion show gave us the chance to view the MR PORTER curated looks first hand thanks to a chic runway show.

Featuring brands like Gucci, Lanvin, Yves Saint Laurent, J. On hand to celebrate the launch of SUITS & STYLE and sitting front row were the shows cast: Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, Gina Torres , Meghan Markle, Sarah Rafferty and Rick Hoffman. The entire cast looked impeccably dressed with Ms. Torres in a white Roberto Cavalli dress and Ms. Markle in a black sequin Blu Marine cocktail dress.
