Taylor Swift Announces New Album and New Single

It is hard to believe that it has been almost two years since country sweetheart Taylor Swift released her last album “Sparks Fly” in 2010. Today she announced not only the name (and cover art) for her fourth studio album, but also gave a first listen to the first single.

‘Red’ is the name of Taylor’s new album and it will hit stores and iTunes on October 22, 2012 and will feature 16 brand new tracks. Her first single (available now on iTunes) is titled “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and to quote Taylor “It’s to my lovely ex-boyfriend,” and is a “touching and sensitive” song. While Taylor’s songs have always had a country-pop sound to them, this new single weighs more on the pop side of the scale. We got the chance to preview the song before it was released and while it has a little more of the pop sound to it, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” is the type of fun, upbeat song that we’ve come to expect from Taylor Swift.
