Tommy Hilfiger Spring 2014 Runway Show
Opening to the sounds of the Beach Boys’ “California Girls”, the Tommy Hilfiger show epitomized the active lifestyle of the Golden State. Scuba-chic is defined, bringing water sports to the runway. Peeled down wetsuit inspired pieces making for an unexpectedly fresh style. Denim, chambray and silk are worked into many of the looks as well, balancing out the more structured pieces with soft movement.
Modern with an element of retro revival, the color palette included rich maroon, deep navy and teal, contrasted by bright coral, orange, turquoise and robin egg blue.
Varsity jerseys, sports shorts and high top wedges offer court-side cool, transitioning from sea to sand. And with that comes floral prints and classic military-inspired outerwear with a final olive khaki romper. Not to be overlooked, the accessories highlighted each of the looks. Mirrored sunglasses, platform sandals, clogs, beach totes and gym bags – the look is complete from head to toe.
The beach boardwalk runway set the tone from the start and the collection did not disappoint. If there’s one last takeaway; neoprene never looked so good.
