Women’s trends aren’t the only ones that we here at KENTON are focusing on. Oh, no. Men have every right to remain stylishly on trend, and we have to ticket to get you there. Check out our trends below, with comments from our editors!

Print Shirt Punch (Alexander Liang, Editor-in-Chief)
Guys, it’s time to embrace print shirts this season. No, we’re not talking about ill-fitting Hawaiian shirts. Givenchy’s “birds of paradise” is as close to the islands as you need to be. Floral prints yes, but in tailored fits. Long sleeves or short sleeves, the choice is yours. The Bolder the better, but don’t get too carried away with the variety of colors on one single shirt.

Boy in Blue (Mia Tucker Williams, Fashion Director)
There is something about the color blue that looks great on every guy and there are plenty of cool choices for spring. If you’re into that causal rugged bad boy look, head to toe denim is your answer. A great way to jazz up your denim look is by mixing in a standout print for a stylish twist. The classic dark blue blazer is a menswear staple that every guy should own. Find the cut that’s right for you and try adding your own spin on it with a colorful pocket square. Gucci, Dior Homme, and Kenzo all have some great options this season. For the guy who’d rather stand out than blend in with the crowd, a blue plaid suit is definitely the way to go. From tailored and dapper to comfy and casual, there’s truly enough blues for everyone.

Bright Light (Michael Cook, Style Editor)
We all know that sunglasses are the must have accessory for those days when the sun is shinning brighter and longer. But this summer you might need your shades for something else – to protect yourself from the bright hues shinning in your wardrobe. Menswear designers were crazy for bright bold colors in their collections this year. Bringing menswear out of the dull colors often associated with summertime (light grey and khaki) and pumping it up a notch. Splashes of bold colors are everywhere! The good news is you don’t have to commit to a full on bright colored look. These bright hues can mix and match with everything bringing just a dash of fun into any outfit. Color will be everywhere from the office cubicle to the sandy beaches and everywhere in between. So go ahead have some fun with your wardrobe this year dip yourself into a color palette that screams a good time for everyone!

Sunbleached Beach (Quentin Washington, Fashion Editor)
The best thing about beachwear is that you can take the trends of Summer onto the beach; but just from the waist down. Because of this, you can go as bold as you want! Bright colors, bold prints, and tailoring are becoming hot items for beachwear for men. Don’t be afraid to go shorter and tighter for swimwear this season; but if you opt for a more classic fit, keep it exciting with prints like geometric shapes or paisley prints. For Spring/Summer 2012, Perry Ellis, D&G, DSQUARED2, Tommy Hilfiger and Michael Bastian offered swimwear with rich colors and tons of attitude; and depending on how daring you are, you could wear the shorts from the beach to the bar with ease!

Field Work (Colin Dawidziuk, European Fashion Editor)
Whether you were a varsity jock or not in high school, now’s the time to get out on to the field. Burberry Prorsum, D&G, Calvin Klein, Givenchy and DSquared2 are all advocating a cool, urban way to approaching the field this season, with plenty of parkas, shorts, and edgy-coolness to go around. For the more eccentric among you, go for Burberry’s brash printed shirts and parka combos to stand out, or go for the heavy knit/short combo at DSquared2. Embrace prints a la D&G, but don’t be afraid to go to clinically cool Calvin Klein route either. Just don’t be afraid to get out, and get sweaty – or not, those clothes are expensive after all!

It's more than fashion.
