Topshop Unique Fall 2012
The Topshop girl is often feminine, girly, flirtatious, and seductive. This season, however, the Topshop girl is taking a complete 180. The military influence was clear, with sharp shapes and boxy cuts, but the significantly sport-like emphasis on many pieces gave the collection a worldly image – from London to New York, the Unique girl is adaptable to any surrounding. The palette of mainly grey and deep olives was broken up by injections of red, white and orange, as well as steel greys. The hair and make-up, a sexy tousled tress and a simple, defined eye, were a highlight which made the collection tough and edgy, but still completely feminine. Reminiscent of the cool and street wise New York – Topshop’s New York flagship has been open for quite a few years, and the online side has been booming since it became available State wide – and the so-edgy-and-on-the-edge-that-you’re-almost-off-the-edge London were married into the perfect fall and winter collection. And all we can say is – why weren’t we bridesmaids at the wedding?!
