Victoria Beckham is launching a new optical range to her Victoria Beckham eyewear collection. Being near sighted-herself, Victoria has forever been on the hunt for the perfect pair of specs.

I do need to wear glasses — [but] I haven’t found glasses that suit me or that I particularly like,” Beckham told WWD. “I’ve always been quite self-conscious [about this], so that’s why I’ve decided to do them myself.

Victoria collaborated with Cutler & Gross on the line, which will include six pieces, each coming in three different color ways. Made in Italy, the frames are handcrafted and feature a diamond faceted “V” on the tips. The glasses vary in style, from more delicate aviators to heavier acetate, rectangular shapes that have a more unisex appeal. Both Victoria and David Beckham wear the “Heavy Square” frame.

The Victoria Beckham eyewear collection was launched two years ago, housing a number of sunglass styles sold at Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and Harrods. The new optical line will retail for about $410 a pair, available January 2013.

I will be wearing my glasses now, and it will be nice to see where I will be going for once,” Beckham said.

It's more than fashion.
